Outback Spirit Tours chooses Lowrance® for Arnhem Land Barramundi Lodge Fleet

Lowrance is proud to be the marine electronics platform of choice for Australian tourism operator Outback Spirit Tours, which recently deployed HDS Gen3 fishfinder/chartplotters across the fishing fleet at its Arnhem Land Barramundi Lodge.

Outback Spirit Tours purchased the lodge in September 2015 and has since conducted extensive refurbishment throughout the property. The lodge now features twelve luxury air-conditioned ‘safari suites’, while new waste water treatment facilities and power generation systems support the company’s commitment to sustainable eco-tourism.

Arnhem Land Barramundi Lodge’s fleet of Ocean Master boats was reconditioned during the refit, and expanded with Outback Spirit’s purchase of two new Ocean Master 741 boats.

The reconditioned boats were updated with Lowrance HDS-7 and HDS-9 Gen3 fishfinder/chartplotters, while the new 7.4-metre Ocean Master 741s make the most of available space with larger HDS-12 Gen3 displays.

The entire fleet is equipped with Lowrance StructureScan® HD Skimmer® transducers, which provide DownScan ImagingTM and SideScan sonar for a picture-like view of submerged structure and vegetation.

“In choosing Lowrance, we can be sure our Arnhem Land Barramundi Lodge customers are equipped with the best fish-finding and navigational tools available.” says Outback Spirit Tours director Courtney Ellis. “Delivering memorable experiences is key to our brand, and equipping our boats with the right tools helps to ensure our customers take home some good fishing stories.”

The revitalised Arnhem Land Barramundi Lodge opened on 1 March 2016; the lodge will be available exclusively for fishing during the run-off season, until 2 May. The lodge will also be dedicated to fishing during the build-up season, from 25 September through to 13 December. Between seasons, Outback Spirit will utilise the lodge as the base for its new 12-day Arnhem Land Wilderness Adventure.
